Jim Rutherford
Heath Consultants Incorporated
Research and Engineering Manager
Jim Rutherford joined Heath Consultants Incorporated as Research and Engineering Manager in August, 2003.
Jim was raised in Minnesota. He has always been interested in the math and sciences. Jim got his first job as cabinetmaker as part of the high school On-the-Job training program and attended college night classes. After high school he enrolled full time at the University of Minnesota and started working as a student intern for Honeywell.
Jim’s BSEE and MS Management of Technology degrees have served him well. His career path has led him from defense related positions at Honeywell to industrial process controls as head of research and development at Watlow, and most recently, to industrial leak testing as head of research and development at USON. He quietly admits to having four patents to his credit of primarily product related items; three for plastic heaters and 1 on leak detection signal processing (pending).
Aside from work Jim enjoys golfing and building model airplanes. As a family, his wife of 25+ years Beth and his 12-year old son Corey camp, travel, fish and snow ski.
When asked what he liked about Heath, Jim often replies, “It’s the people and challenge. It’s a great opportunity to work for a company that has cutting edge technology like the OMD and RMLD that are re-inventing an industry. Heath is in a great leadership position and is aggressively making it even stronger.”
